There’s been plenty of speculation for a really really long time now that Sony would eventually develop a PSP mobile handset. From rumors going around to being shot down every now and again, it seems like there’s some clarity on the situation according to a new report that’s out. At E3 this year, Sony unveiled their latest version of the PSP handheld gaming device they’re calling the PSP Go. According to reports, Nikkei, which just happens to a rather large media company from Japan, has news that Sony amalgamating their handheld gaming device with a mobile phone is true.
Although the source is quite reliable, they haven’t really confirmed the information but have mentioned that Sony intends to compete with the iPhone and its gaming development. Of course this could also just mean they intend to develop a new mobile handset with better gaming functionality for motion gaming and then again I’d personally like to believe there’s a PSP Mobile in the works.
Nokia has just announced three new handsets - the Nokia 6700 classic, the 6303 classic and the 2700 classic. The new trio combines functionality with premium designs and materials that make them not only easy on the eyes but on the pocket as well.
In the mobile phone biz, Philips may not be as main stream as say Nokia or Sony Ericsson or Samsung, but we’ll have to admit some of their handset’s in the Xenium range look pretty snappy and the latest – the Xenium X520 also adds a little more to the mix than just looks.

Spice Mobiles has announced the launch of Spice S-940, claiming that the phone is all set to lead a special category of VAS enabled handsets.
The Nokia 5730 features a 2 inch display screen with a 240 x 320 resolution and a slide out QWERTY keyboard as well as the traditional numeric keypad. The phone’s slider zips out effortlessly allowing users to input text without any hassles. The XpressMusic phone is expected to run on Nokia’s S60 3rd Edition and its main focus is on music. The website reports that the phone incorporates a 3.2 megapixel camera integrated with LED flash and auto focus features.
With the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic phone, users can instantly access the music features with dedicated keys placed on its side. An 8 channel equalizer is also integrated in the phone along with an FM radio with RDS support. Nokia’s Say and Play voice navigation feature is also on board.
The built-in storage memory in XpressMusic phone is estimated to be 140MB and can expanded up to 32GB. It is powered by a lithium-ion 1000mAh that can offer a talktime up to 4.5 hours and a standby time up to 270 hours. Nokia 5730 XpressMusic cellphone will be available in blue or red color.
Mobile gaming is getting bigger and better on a daily basis. Dedicated gaming handsets are being designed just to provide for that demand. So far, one of the better gaming handsets available on the market, or at least the one that games look best on according to us is the iPhone. The problem has always been control though as the handset’s lack of buttons sometimes poses a problem.

The controller add-on has been in development for sometime now and has finally reached a stage where the developers believe it’s ready for mass production. In order to use the device though, your device will need to be jailbroken. There’s no confirmation yet, but it’s likely that the company would also develop an iControlPad for the iTouch. The availability of the device or pricing has not been disclosed. All we can say is, it's going to take mobile gaming to a whole new level.
Research In Motion (RIM) in a collaboration with Redington India has established national retail distribution channels for BlackBerry smartphones. This strategic business initiative will help RIM more effectively tap the fast growing mobile communications market in India.
As part of the retail distribution agreement with Redington India, BlackBerry smartphones and service plans from supported carriers will initially be available in retail and modern trade outlets across nine cities: Mumbai, Delhi, NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune and Ahemdabad. Redington intends to expand the retail footprint in a phased manner and will offer a wide range of BlackBerry smartphones beginning with the BlackBerry Pearl series, the BlackBerry Curve series and the BlackBerry Bold smartphone.
Rajesh Khetarpal, Head-Digital Life Style & Telecom SBU, Redington India said, “Redington has always believed in forging relationships that deliver value to end customers. Through this collaboration, Research In Motion will leverage our professional services and pan-India reach to increase the availability of BlackBerry smartphones across the country.”

I’m presuming that BlackBerry loyalists as well as others who were considering a switch to RIM’s smartphones will breathe a sigh of relief as they will no longer be constrained to specific handsets for specific providers.
Fennec, Mozilla’s mobile browser has reached its second alpha stage. Reports states that there only seem to be performance improvements with regards to navigation and viewing capabilities. Of course many users will expect the browser to support some form of Plug-in just like the desktop version. We’ll have to wait and see as the development continues.

Samsung's F268 handset has been termed the "Greenest Mobile Phone" by the leading environmental campaigning organization, Greenpeace International.
Some of its competitors in the handset category were the Motorola V9, the Nokia 3110 Evolve, the Sony Ericsson C905 and the LG KT520.
HTC has come out with a design which others dual keypad--one with a normal keypad on the top like any ordinary phones and the other that slides out unveil a full scale QWERTY keypad.
This is the first true HTC Smartphone where there's no touch screen and no stylus to worry about. It's a "normal looking" phone with several hidden talents. GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, FM Radio (with RDS), 3 MP camera. The data connectivity offered by the HTC S740 is faster than 3G coming up to over 7MBPS. It has got 256MB in-built memory and one more thing, it's even managed to squeeze a microSD card slot in too.
The Samsung Omnia definitely looks to be a good phone going by the specs. Not many people have got their hands on the phone to do a hands-on review but going by the specs and features listed it sure does not seem too bad. And yes, it has got the quality features to compete with Apples' iPhone 3G.
